Blades School Cosmetology Maryland Virginia

Blades School has been teaching cosmetology since 1986.  What does this mean to you?  It means that we know what we're doing.  In the last 6 months 2010, 100% of our students passed the Maryland Cosmetology Board Theory Exam the very first time they tested.  If you decide to trust us with your future, we'll do our best to prepare you to pass the State Board Exam, too

Blades School of Hair Design is: a Pivot Point Member School, accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology, Arts and Sciences; approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission approved for Veteran's Training; and is the very first Maryland school to be accepted as a Pivot Point School! We keep striving to get better and better.  Which really means that we keep striving to make your cosmetology education better and better.

The Median Federal student loan for our 2009/2010  graduates was $8,870
Our students had no private loan debt, nor did they have any school financing plan debt.

Our 2009/2010 on-time completion rate was  58%.  That means 18 out of 31 graduated exactly on time.
Our average attendance rate for our 2009/2010 graduates was 97%.  We are really proud of that!  Every single one of our graduates completed their training within the normal times for thier individual schedule.

We stay in touch with our graduates to see how they are doing.  29 out of 31, or 94% of our 2009/2010 graduates are working as stylists in salons.  Our typical graduate gets their license roughly 8 to 10 weeks after graduation and starts working very shortly after receiving their license.  We report our job placement success to both the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences, and the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

Our Cosmetology program is a clock-hour program.  We literally record every hour that you are in attendance, and you graduate the day you reach 1500 hours.  Please refer to our "Schedule of Classes" on this website for how many months it takes to graduate with our variety of schedules.

It is our mission to prepare our students for the world of professional cosmetology. It is our responsibility to train students in accordance with the regulations of the State of Maryland, in skills and techniques of beautification. Our instructors hold themselves to the highest degree of professionalism and expect the same standard from their students.

The management and instructional staff of Blades have a strong belief in the capabilities and talents of our students. This tenet is demonstrated in the school’s basic philosophy of hands-on instruction. The student will be provided a complete professional educational experience in a relaxed salon setting, with personalized instruction being the preferred teaching method. The main emphasis of instruction will be to insure the student is provided and fully understands every aspect of cosmetology. The students are also encouraged to express their artistic freedom that is essential to a cosmetology career.

We welcome you to call Ms Liz at 301-862-9797 and make an appointment to see our school and find out more about us.
